Vehicle tracking
Click here to see where the mini is now!
YES vehicle tracking was fitted on the 14th august 2009 by a professional auto electrician.
The installation was quick and trouble free. The main feed was taken from No1 fuse so as the unit activated when the ignition was turned on. An earth point was taken from the bolt attached to the steering column lowering bracket.
I had the unit fitted above the switches and the aerials one on the top of the speedo housing and one on the top rail. I decided to have them visible for others to see just how small and intrusive these units are. The units would be useless if stolen as they could be tracked and they are registered to the vehicle.

There are many benefits from have tracking on your mini, My two main reasons where:
1) People could follow the progress of the mini on the run by the Internet.
2) If something went wrong people could look up the minis whereabouts.

This is the tracking unit. I had it fitted visible so as people can see just how small the unit is. This could be hidden under the dash if required. These are the aerials for the tracker. The small one must be able to see the sky while the one (by the windscreen) can be placed out of sight.
