Disadvantages:

1) If Huddersfield Spares send you the wrong item then they want you to return it to them before the correct item is sent back to you.
2) Huddersfield Spares do not supply replacement bushes for the top of the shocks.
3) Huddersfield Spares do not tell you about the Things you need to know.
4) There is no means of adjusting the rear tow in with the Huddersfield Spares beam axle.

When ordering the beam axle Huddersfield Spares said they would give me a discount or make a donation supplie a set of Cobra seats that could be raffled at the end of the run and so far none of this has came about.

I bought a set of RFX tapered wheel nuts from Huddersfield Spares web site and they sent the sleeved wheel nuts instead. They wanted me to pay for another set of wheel nuts (the ones I ordered in the first place) and they would on receipt of the wrong ones they sent me would then refund the first set on wheel nuts and the postage.
They would not send me the correct wheel nuts and trust me to return the wrong set.

The invoice has the correct detail and price £15 but they sent the wrong nuts costing £25 so they have lost £10 and a customer.

Personally I would not use Huddersfield Spares as they can send you what ever and then you have to go to the bother of sending it back, or buy the correct thing again and then return the product and hope they refund your money. disgraceful I think.

Things you might like to known:

1) If you have standard Rover Cooper wheels 12" x 4.5J you will need spacers or they will rub against the shock springs.
2) You will need a new brake pipe 3 to 4" longer than the one going from the brake union to the flexible pipe on the drivers side.
3) You will need to make a small right-angled bracket to attach the brake union to the beam axle.
4) You will need to make two exhaust brackets one for the rear and one at the beam axle.
5) You will have to check the spindle from the swinging arm fits into the brackets all the way past the threads.
6) You will have to drill two holes and have 2 nuts, washers and bolts for attaching the centre of the beam axle.
7) You may have to drill out one or more of the mounting holes on the beam axle to line up with the front subframe mounting holes.
8) If you support the car on axle stands at the jacking points at the rear of the car, once the beam axle is fitted you can not jack the car back up on the subframe as it is no longer there.
9) You can not use a standard tow hitch.

Benefits I found:

1) Better handling.
2) Firmer ride.
3) Easier to keep under side clean.
4) No more rusty subframe.
5) Easier access.
6) Rear valance and closing plates not a MOT issue anymore and can be removed if required.
7) Better value than buying new genuine subframe, high lows, camber kit, cones and shocks.
8) Easier to replace.
